Religion vs. Atheism in an emotional perspective

Religion (mostly Christianity) might be better in this respect because it gives more of a "purpose", and you have all this fancy immortal shit. Also, churches tend to have all this positive attitude along with them. However, at the same time you're subject to God and you have all the rules and stuff.

With atheism there's no "purpose" to life except what you make of it, and no rules.

I used to be just as depressed when I was a "Christian". Being atheist is a bit more liberating?

why do i keep being captain obvious

The meaning of life is whatever you make it.

I have never heard that before.

There are no clear way to learn it unlike html and css who are actually funny to learn and explore.

Re: Religion vs. Atheism in an emotional perspective

One thing I don't understand about Christians is how they can ever be scared of death.

If they continue being Christian and *reasonably* good people, then they're basically going to some awesome fucking cloudy palace in the sky when they die.

Where as I'm an Atheist and all I think will happen is I'll cease existing. Which sounds a lot worse and more morbid than heaven, obviously.

Maybe it's just because I'm not someone who's scared of death.

If there's a car speeding directly at me, I'll just stand there. If someone points a gun to my head, I'll dare them to fire.

...That sounded way too fucking edgy, but it's true. We're all going to die someday.

If we didn't, then that would be very, very awful.

How good can heaven be if there is no sex and no fun? God doesn't allow fun on earth, so why would heaven be any better. Heaven sounds boring and lame as fuck.

Re: Religion vs. Atheism in an emotional perspective

Eh, I think it's emotionally stupid. People tell their kids when their grandparents die they will all be able to meet up in heaven and it'll all be ok and everything is fine, but that's bullshit. Just tell them the truth. Life is full of death and terribad things, sheltering kids from it is retarded.
