Topic: Stephen Hawking Says We Should Be Scared Of Capitalism, Not Robots

http://usuncut.com/news/edit-complete-h … ot-robots/

If machines produce everything we need, the outcome will depend on how things are distributed. Everyone can enjoy a life of luxurious leisure if the machine-produced wealth is shared, or most people can end up miserably poor if the machine-owners successfully lobby against wealth redistribution. So far, the trend seems to be toward the second option, with technology driving ever-increasing inequality.

I'm really curious as to how the Wall-E universe would've portrayed toilets, if I recall they never showed.

Re: Stephen Hawking Says We Should Be Scared Of Capitalism, Not Robots

But what did Wall E men do with their penises...or were they unaware of the existence of a penis.

SShouldn't post scarcity be something balanced a bit towards a healthier life for most? Less stress, more time, and money won't be the gate holding back from pursuing an activity?

Re: Stephen Hawking Says We Should Be Scared Of Capitalism, Not Robots

Ya, this assumption that everyone would just stop doing any kind of trying is stupid to me. Some people might, but a lot of people would not. They would take up activities.

Re: Stephen Hawking Says We Should Be Scared Of Capitalism, Not Robots

I'd pursue a few years of martial arts training and become a master melee weapon expert with weapons such as staffs and swords. And bare hands.

BTw would post scarcity solve STDs so we could all fuck like bunnies as a casual activity?

Re: Stephen Hawking Says We Should Be Scared Of Capitalism, Not Robots

The idea that we wouldn't invent some way to be fit and healthy with no physical exercise and good diet is retarded too. We'd have like nanobots keeping us all in olympic athlete condition.

Re: Stephen Hawking Says We Should Be Scared Of Capitalism, Not Robots

So I shouldnt call my doctor if this viagrabots is giving me an erection for more than 4 hours.

Plus why do we assume post scarcity equals a shitload of unhealthy food? I'm sure we would manage to get healthy food that would also be tolerably delicious.

Nanobots for the human body are probably much farther off than automation.
