Re: __

I'd go with option 1 all day, everyone would have less money, I'd have twice as much, the market would adjust, bamp, I'm rich as fuck. If everyone gets 250k but I get 100, market adjusts, I can't buy shit. Also imo this is a loaded question from the start. I'll elaborate if I have time later.

Re: __

Gimme 100k. Fuck everyone else. If it's USD, I can just move it to a country where my 100k USD makes me a fucking millionaire.

God bless globalized economy.

Why would you assume this is confined to the U.S

Cause it uses the dollar sign and it'd be totally irrational to assume the ENTIRE world makes that much. I mean are 7 billion people worldwide making a quarter million a year? I mean the scenario itself is far-fetched but if they were to apply "other people" to the entire world, that'd just be WAAAAYYY out there.

Plus IMO, until one world gubament or post-scarcity, there'll always be a substantial difference in purchasing power between currencies.

Re: __

Well Id go for second option because fuck others. It takes money to make money, and a 100k will let me woop the 250k in the ass damn fast. If everybody had 25k and I had 50k, theyd be persuaded to outdo me and the only pleasure Id have is seeing my superirority crushed by the ambitious masses.

Theres more pleasure in beating everyone that has 250k from the bottom rising up, then to be at the top alone while everyone is below. Maybe an entrapreneur would choose the second option(plus if everyone has 250k that means mo money from mo saps. Aint gonna get rich off of the 25kers)

Re: __

Assume for the moment that prices of goods and services will stay the same.

lol wut i'm picking the second fgt

but what absent said about the market adjusting is much more realistic, unless your society just had less resources/efficiency. i'd rather be below average in a society with a shitload more resources because i'd be better off

Lol. If it's absolute wealth you would have to be a real faggot to pick 50. I really want to look into this more when I get time, because it's hard to believe people would choose the second.

It's a loaded question, still, though, because it makes too many assumptions. If I get time I'll elaborate.

Re: __

That's not the point at all lol. Only someone completely unfamiliar with inequality would be unable to see that this is taking a survey and trying to draw economic conclusions from it. In that sense, it's clearly loaded as fuck. It's a question designed with the assumption that policies promoting or leading to inequality give people better lives, when that's far from settled. In fact, last I checked, research leans in the opposite direction indicating inequality can slow progress. There's also theoretical reasons for this.

I'm not talking about the design of the survey, yet.

There's also a mess of variables when it comes to the survey that I'd like to check out. Seems like bullshit. Assuming that the results are accurate, jumping to policy conclusions seems to me to be misleading, and questions posed here are designed to do exactly that.
